Post Details: Science Technician (Physics). 26 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, over 5 days, times to be agreed. Grade 4 Point 17-22 £17,772 - £20,661 (pro-rata) with a pay award pending (actual £10,681 - £12,417). Required as soon as possible. We have a vacancy for a versatile, skilful and dedicated Science Technician to provide high-quality support to a large, dynamic and successful team of teachers. The successful candidate will have: - a strong Science background - a wide range of excellent practical skills - strong organisational ability - a genuine interest in education and young people. The main focus of this post is support for Physics at Key Stages four and five. Science plays a prominent part in the life of the School and consistently achieves high results. The Science Faculty has 19 members of staff and four laboratory technicians. The Faculty has a Curriculum Leader of Science and Curriculum Leaders for Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Key Stage 3 (Lower School) Science. Teaching accommodation is excellent – a STEM centre built in 2012 includes four fully equipped laboratories and a computer room. There is effective and high quality technical and administrative support and the Faculty is well resourced. King Edward VII School is a thriving, over-subscribed School with a diverse intake.
